This is a question Banks

Your Ginger Fuhrer froths, "I hate my bank. Not because of debt or anything but because I hate being sold to - possibly pathologically so - and everytime I speak to them they try and sell me services. Gold cards, isas, insurance, you know the crap. It drives me insane. I ALREADY BANK WITH YOU. STOP IT. YOU MAKE ME FRIGHTED TO DO MY NORMAL BANKING. I'm angry even thinking about them."

So, tell us your banking stories of woe.

No doubt at least one of you has shagged in the vault, shat on a counter or thrown up in a cash machine. Or something

I went to a cash point
and sat in the slot was a £10 note!

I needed £20 so I put my card in the machine and watched it blue screen and reboot into windows XP. Piece of shit.

Most cashpoints run windows
Yeah....most cashpoints seem to run windows for some reason. I've even seen a few that run windows NT. Why the banks basically trust our money to microsoft os's, I've got no idea.

reliability
yup i agree, i've seen a photobooth running one of the best versions of red hat linux ever, but something like a cash maching requiring all the security and reliability an os can offer and they choose win xp ? even if it was the most stable windows they created... come on....

consultant head on
BSD would be my rec. and If it had to be microshit it would be 2k as most of the hard bits were done by real programmers, not MS clowns and it is more stable and secure than XP. ( go and have good look, not just my biased opinion)

Some gel hared thicko would probably suggest vista!
Pass me me pistols, the hounds are still all fagged out from yesterday`s jehovah`s witnesses and I have to improve the species.

I see all your fancy OS's and raise you
OS/2 on a cash machine I watched reboot in Bath in about 2001/2. Having googled for banks near my old house it must have been a Lloyds.

HSBC still use OS/2 to this day.
