Yesterday's jalepeños.
They were good in the fajitas last night but the mayo took the edge off them.

Today they are the worst thing I've eaten. There's a reason the jar says "hot" all over it and the lid. Holy fucking shit on a stick they're hot.

They fucking arn't
Jalepenos are mild at best, especially the shite we get over here.

Yes, yes, you like hot chillies
so you obviously have a huge cock and fuck supermodels.

We get it.

On the other hand, not having to compensate for any psychological insecurities or physical inadequacies means that some people here are free to declare that they don't enjoy ridiculously hot things, if they don't.
(, Wed 1 Jun 2011, 15:44, closed)
Yes
and also, they are actually quite hot.
(, Wed 1 Jun 2011, 15:49, closed)
You sir are a Dick - Infact worse than that...an uninformed dick
The scoville scale puts the Jalapeno firmly in the mild category...Not the hot...
(, Wed 1 Jun 2011, 15:52, closed)
scovile catagory ?
would that be the one that was develpoed by that bloke fro over there to help people get an idea of how hot or not a chilli was/wasnt and all the time i thought he was just some over paid makeup waring grey heard old toss pot that was only less uncomfortable to watch than david dickenson getting a new coat of orange paint applied

?

Now that's Hot.

You mean the scale that measures chillies against one another
rather than, say, a Jalepeno against a Vanilla Ice Cream?
(, Wed 1 Jun 2011, 15:56, closed)
Haha! This^
That's like going into a burns unit and telling people to stop being such a pussy, because a housefire isn't really that hot on a scale of hot things. "Try venturing into the middle of the Sun...then you'll know hot!"
(, Wed 1 Jun 2011, 16:10, closed)
things to try in your life
1 go into a burns ward and ask if it is hot enough
2 go in to a burns ward and start your fire breathing act as a way of cheering up the inmates
3 go in to the maternity ward and ask were the home for retired seamen is
etc
etc
etc
(, Wed 1 Jun 2011, 16:14, closed)
thats the one vanilla ice cream
he had that song that had some lyrics in it that sound like just like a song i had heard of from some one who sang that wasnt that song but a differant song that sound like some song that dbloke did with the ice cream
this one time at band camp

There is literally no way on God's green Earth
that you could think jalepeƱos are hot.
(, Wed 1 Jun 2011, 17:09, closed)
No
there is no way on God's green earth that YOU think they are.
(, Wed 1 Jun 2011, 17:11, closed)
No.
Bushcricket is completely correct. They are called 'mild' by the Scoville scale, therefore they are no spicier than cheddar or or bus tickets.

Hint: Bushcricket is a mong.
(, Wed 1 Jun 2011, 19:44, closed)
Bushcricket may well be a mong
but if someone finds something hot, it's hot.

And I refer you to my post above re the merits of the scoville scale.

Wait, I am properly confused now...who's a what in this conversation?
(, Wed 1 Jun 2011, 19:54, closed)
Isn't there a certain amount of a particular, burny ingredient that I can't really spell...
Capsicum? Capsaicin? that determines the old hotness of them there chillies? IE I don't think that scale is complete rubbish. Maybe.

Really though, you just build up a tolerance to spice the more you eat. And for the purposes of comparing chillies to other chillies, Jalapenos are pretty mild compared to others. If you couldn't compare them, and someone wanted to start on spicy foods, and you just said 'oh, they're all HOT! Eat THIS!' and gave him a naga, you'd probably kill them. Best to start on something 'relatively' mild, like a green pepper. I mean, Jalapeno.
(, Thu 2 Jun 2011, 8:11, closed)
Absolutely
That's my point. Jalepeno's may well be 'relatively' mild. And there is nothing wrong with a scale measuring them against one another so you know what to expect, but if someone has a Jalepeno and finds it too hot for them, it's hot on absolute terms for them and for anyone to clain otherwise is either ignorance or obstinance.

Going down
They were fine on the way down. I really enjoyed them. It was my muck spreader which took exception to them.
