This is a question Bodge Jobs

If you can't fix it with a hammer and a roll of duck tape, it's not worth fixing at all, my old mate said minutes before that nasty business with the hammer and a roll of duck tape. Tell us of McGyver-like repairs and whether they were a brilliant success or a health and safety nightmare.

The Bodge repairman's code
There are only two things you need to fix anything, Gaffer Tape and WD-40.

If it moves and it shouldn't, use the Gaff.

If it doesn't move and it's supposed to, use the WD.

That is all

This little homily
seems somehow familiar...

We should run a sweepstake on how many people post it.
I'm going to say ... five.

...hmm, only three including this one. Could have sworn it was more. Nine or ten rants about whether it's duck tape or duct tape or suck tape or fucked ape must have boosted it in my mind.

I'm betting on at least two more before the end of the week, so let's go with your figure.

So sue me
I'm a lazy cunt and can't be fucked looking through all the posts to see if it's already been done.

Odds on the most obvious tired old gag being rattled off three or times for any qotw?
Let me just crunch the numbers through the autocalculotron™ ... click clik ... wrzzzzt ... clik ... ding!

I don't like the sound of that 'wrzzzzt'.
Let's have a look...yeah, your autocalc's got a cracked numbers hopper. You can probably just tape it together, it'll be fine. And that integration flange is sticking a bit...

I hate you.
You're not my real dad.

My sig says otherwise.

Mmm, it's as if it was already posted farther down the page....

Here's another oldie:
Duct tape is like The Force:

It has a light side and a dark side and it holds the universe together.

After having looked up Gaffer Tape on Wikipedia.
I can only say that, unless you're planning a stage show, you want duct tape or even Duck Tape (tm).

I'm a photographer.
I definitely use Gaffer Tape.

There is a definite difference between gaffer and duct tape.

I was always told that it was
a hammer
a screwdriver
& a shifter (adjustable wrench)

I think perhaps zip ties are the new duct tape.

Zip ties are the new duct tape
...for anyone wishing to appear in Waking the Dead or The Killing.
