This is a question Broken Promises

Thebigfella tugs our coat and says: Are you a LibDem minister, a cheating partner, or maybe you have an annoying friend you can't be bothered with? Tell us of promises you've broken, or if you've been on the receiving end.

Wham!
In the song 'wake me up before you go go' George Michael sang "i'm not planning on going solo"
Then look what the cunt went and did.
No wonder Andrew Ridgley doesn't talk to him.

exactly
he said he wasn't planning to, not that he wouldn't.

Can you trust a man wearing shorty shorts and fluro fingerless gloves, though?
George, your promises were a bit suss to begin with.

It was a confused time
For example in the song "Duel", German popticians Propaganda sang "the first cut won't hurt at all". www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2UHvgiq79E if you really must

At the same time, fat arsed, gravelly, cradle-robber, Rod Stewart claimed "the first cut is the deepest".
www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2UHvgiq79E but don't bother
Now if popular musicians are unable to decide, what will the effect be on the youths.

Probably Nick Clegg or something

Similarly,
The Clash said "Should I stay or should I go?" But later on they said, "If I stay there will be trouble, and if I go it will be double." Simple arithmetic tells one that staying will lead to half the trouble of going. The answer is therefore self-evident.

Problem solved, stupid punk rocker types!

ah but...
Was it total amount of trouble or trouble over a given period (day, week, etc.)? If it's the latter and he stays then he'd have more trouble overall.
