This is a question Have you ever seen a dead body?

How did you feel?
Upset? Traumatised? Relieved? Like poking it with a stick?

Horizontal parcels.
My wife works in a nursing home, and one night while I was waiting to collect her, the undertaker's van arrived.

As the paperwork involved with a death is involved, I assumed that beloved wouldn't be out for a bit. Indeed, the deceased appeared before she did, in the form of a long plastic parcel on a coffin trolley.

My daughter, 2 and a half, was in the back. She pointed at the trolley and said:

"Poorly?"

"No dear, dead."

"Proper poorly!".

I don't want kids...
...but it's things like this which make me understand the joy of them.

A bittersweet little story that gets a click from me, definitely.

Undue faith in parental power
This is the child who, when seeing me jointing venison, asked:

"That's Bambi, isn't it? Are you making him better?"

"No, it's not Bambi, it's going to be Christmas dinner."

"I'll just have the gravy then."

Well...
...they're a mystery to me, (those BT ads just leave me bewildered), but the way I imagined the scene was quite sweet. You still earned the click, either way.

Wait...you were knifing up a deer and she asked if you were *fixing* it? That's both sweet and funny. Thank you.

I just started reading the replies and by and large they've been pretty depressing, but this one made me laugh out loud.
