Turned 18
That's when it all started. OK here's a rundown.

Applied by post for a credit card from my bank (HSBC), took too long so went in and asked, they declined me.

I heard that the Halifax were giving out credit cards to anyone so went down there and applied, got a card with £1250 limit. Went and booked a holiday to Ibiza with a random friend of a friend who is now my best mate (another story for another day), got some spending money, went clothes shopping etc all within about 5 days. I actually booked the holiday September 12th 2001 so got it dirt cheap (£130 each all inc) in fact the price dropped by thirty quid in 2 hours lol.

Anyway day before going to Ibiza get something in the post, yes it's HSBC they've processed my application and it's a THREE GRAND credit card. So bugger off to Ibiza have an amazing time rinse over a grand in seven days. Get back there's a letter from Halifax, they've bricked it coz I've gone over my limit in under a week and I have to pay the whole lot back. Go to HSBC cap in hand, been up all night on a flight looked rough as hell, they gave me a loan to pay it all off. Of course the account doesn't get closed to I rack it up.

Anyway to save you all the length a series of drinking sessions, women, flash cars holidays gadgets etc (but mostly booze) I end up 20 grand in debt by the time I'm 20. Then mum and dad divorce so mum pays off all my cards so I'm just left with one loan to pay each month. Thing is a girl screws me over so I end up depressed and living off my credit cards again. So total debt ends up thirty grand and I'm 21.

Anyway I'm 23 now and 18 months into my IVA ...
