Luring CockroachesAlthough cockroaches can handle regular water well enough, one day I discovered they drown in soapy water. So, I quickly rendered clotheshangers into skewers and dangled spam over pots of soapy water all over the floor of my apartment.
Clever bastards skipped the traps and found the spam where I left it, with the cheese, on the bookcase.

Probablydue to the fact that the soap destroys the surface tension. Ordinarily surface tension would prevent the water entering the roaches spiracles for a time, enough for them to escape to dry land before they asphyxiate anyway but the soap negates this.
