This is a question I'm going to Hell...

...because I said the Lord's Prayer backwards at a funeral to summon up the Goat of Mendes, Freddie Woo tells us. Tell us why you're doomed.

Thanks to Kaol for the suggestion

Think I may have posted this before.
Manchester United fans. Directing them in the opposite direction to Old Trafford when asked where it is.

Nasty, or a public service?

Discuss, 5000 words by Friday.

well played, sir
they should know where it is already

Except that
they have probably made the trip from anywhere in the UK other than Manchester.

Still. They deserve what they get.

Nicely done
Would have been mildly more exciting if you directed them to Man City.

Why just united fans?
Whenever I'm asked for directions by passing motorists, I'm siezed by a terrible compulsion to get them on the nearby motorway by hook or by crook.

"You're only on it for half a mile, and you're missing out the one-way system. It's [destination] right by that next exit, you can't miss it. Massive place, all lit up it is..."

Lies. The next exit is about twenty-five miles away. And they're still lost.

Usually my better nature prevails.

I love
the fact that non utd fans think that not coming from Manchester is somehow an insult. Also that just because their popularity and success has long since expanded far beyond thelocality to some of the farthest reaches of the planet. Also because this must have happened because they are shit. I love also the implication that if you move house you are somehow obliged to change allegiance to your new local team. Also the fact that people of hundreds of different cultures and backgrounds can for a moment enjoy a shared experience.

Enjoy watching your little team that a few thousand people turn up to watch week in week out under the misguided belief and ignorance that it's some sort of duty. It's a fucking game and your tiny little world view is out of date.

Blimey.
It just annoys me cos I live down the road from them. And they drive their cars past mine bipping their horns,

who on earth
has ever changed their allegiance after moving?

I live 300 miles away from my beloved Carlisle but it doesn't mean I've forgotten about them (sadly).
