I have 9 or 10 large plastic toolboxes
full of Lego, that I have collected over the years.

Includes 5 Mindstorm Robotics sets, at least a dozen various technical sets, pneumatic sets, probably 30 motors.

One of the boxes contains nothing but wheels. There's got to be 200 of them. Also at least 500 cogs/gears of various sizes, all of which are sorted into compartments by size.

I sure hope my 2 year old son gets into Lego, or I'm wasting an awful lot of shed space, and by conservative estimates about 5 grand that I could Ebay it all for.

I hardly ever
use it nowadays.

Maybe I should, but there's never time. I really hope my son gets into it though, I learned a lot from Lego, it'd be good to pass it on.

I had an uncle
who stormed out of the room in a strop because he'd spent 45 minutes building a house, and then my cousin smashed it because he'd taken the nicest door.

Serves him right for being greedy. You can either have the bricks that aren't full of play-do, or the working doors... but not both!

We don't have any children around our house, but every so often we'll get the Lego out and have a good old play nonetheless
Essentially, forget about the baby. Toys are wasted on children anyway.

This is a waste of shed space.
Surely the intelligent thing to do would be to build a lego shed, and then keep all the leftover pieces inside said shed.

Plus, that means you have a real reason to play with some legos.
