This is a question How nerdy are you?

This week Gary Gygax, co-creator of Dungeons and Dragons, died. A whole generation of pasty dice-obsessed nerds owes him big time. Me included.

So, in his honour, how nerdy were you? Are you still sunlight-averse? What are the sad little things you do that nobody else understands?

As an example, a B3ta regular who shall remain nameless told us, "I spent an entire school summer holiday getting my BBC Model B computer to produce filthy stories from an extensive database of names, nouns, adjectives, stock phrases and deviant sexual practices. It revolutionised the porn magazine dirty letter writing industry for ever.

Revel in your own nerdiness.

d&d
When I was about 12-13 ish, I heard all about this dungeons and dragons thing. It sounded ace.

I thought it was like some kind of super computer game, the like of which my puny ZX Spectrum could never match. I heard stories of the epic adventures kids at school had had.

I wanted a go. I so wanted a go. I wanted to be a warrior called Vladimir or something. I wanted some fucking adventures.

So, finally, I got invited to join in a game. With much anticipation I weilded the stupid-sided dice and we got going.

After about 5mins, I thought 'This is fucking shit' and went home.

hahahahha
been there.
Except....instead of going home, I started drinking heavily and attempting to convince a hot nerd guy to sneek off for sex.......

....his response was along the lines of 'we can have sex anytime...I can only play D&D now, so maybe later' bah!

edit: I was 17 at the time

I must admit
I harassed a group in the sixth form when I joined, as they were playing D&D, and I so wanted to be in. After about 2 months they let me join, and after about 20 minutes it somewhat went down in my estimation. Teach me to want to be "in".
