This is a question No Self-Awareness

I had a boss who had no idea of his body odour problem, and everybody was too tactful to break it to him. Not so a visiting Rev Ian Paisley: "What the blazes is that smell? Is it you?" That sorted it. Stories of people blissfully unaware of their bad smells, bad manners and foghorn voices.

open plan office
I have moved down to the first floor in my office as the managers on the second floor have no internal volume control.

There's the special one who keeps shouting "I don't know what I'm doing" or "I don't understand" and also the other half of fucking Jedward who rings her up and discusses applications and CVs with her whilst sitting about 15 yards away.

The thing is everybody between them can hear both halves of the conversation as neither of them understand the concept of lowering their voices and thus they might as well just put the fucking phone down and shout.

The aforementioned second half of Jedward is also health and safety guy and recently injured himself falling down a flight of exterior metal steps in the rain whilst wearing those clippy cloppy metal bottomed cycling shoes.

spesh as fuck in my office.

they are known as spd s.
he must be special if he wears them, look keo classics are much more comfy and come with rubber bits on the cleats to stop just that sort of thing happening.

tsk

Hey! I have a pair of those cycling shoes!
If they didn't make the clippy-cloppy sound, how would I inform everyone of my superiority? Grab them by the shoulders, shake them, and yell "I'VE JUST BEEN CYCLING, YOU FLAT-FOOTED PLEB!"? Honestly, you just don't think, do you?

ahhh
but would you wear them on obviously slippery metal stairs in the rain?

His new office nickname is Slinky.

Did he cite himself?
Those stairs need non-skid applied.

Clip-in* pedals Shirley?
*Yes, I know that they're technically known as "clipless", but that just confuses the fuck out of non-cyclists.

No, I wouldn't do that.
I have managed to get stuck in the pedals, though, chin-ing the road as a result.

Dressing Up
I used to live next to a posh bike shop in Glasgow. One sunny Saturday I spent most of the day mending my car outside, and so was able to observe their customers. A non-trivial number - as in "several every hour" - turned up in the full commercial-covered gear, the helmet, the clippy shoes ... and NO FUCKING BICYCLE.

Bike locked up round the corner, perhaps?
Or did you see them getting out of their cars dressed like that?

the issue is pressure
wider cleats spread the pressure over the ball of the foot over longer rides and are therefore more comfortable.

the shoes that the wider base cleats come on tend to be stiffer as well, making your pedal stroke more effecient and taking the strain off your insole.

I sit next to a bloke
who talks to himself all day about how shite the software is, graphics lagging and other issues with his computer.
I have the exactly the same software, OS and hardware. My computer works absolutely fine.

Thank fuck for over the ear headphones.
