I just got back from an MRI scan !
That stuff went right to my head, I felt like I was gliding down the coridor and my breathing was so shallow that I didn't care if my lungs were moving or not. Felt great, really chilled. I couldn't hold my breath for the long hold breath sections, I was always like only 3-5 seconds to quick, but it's alright, they don't need you to be totally steal for 100% of those bits. I hope. It was quite snug being strapped in like that, I donno how these really fat american people fit in them. Stomach was caining afterwards though, probably from being strapped and still for so long, and not being able to eat/drink anything 'till 2 in the afternoon.

I've started loving Flake bars, I wanna be like the women in the advert in the bath tonight.

Tonight I'm eaither cooking my special potato salad, or getting a thai take away, depending on how I feel after my nap.

Alt: alright?

I fall asleep during MRI scans generally
I'm currently tidying up, and feeling fairly jubilant that I managed to get a piece of writing finished, done and dusted.

I almost did at a few points, there so smug, I could totally see myself at some point suggesting to invent a bed that is basicly a tunnel.

I'm going to go for a chinese tonight I think, with a girl.

Chinese food is about hiding bad quality ingredients, japanese food is about showing off good quality ingredients.
I mean, the western versions.

hello gonz
we were talking about you last night. well, about your black satin sheets, anyway.
(, Fri 9 Mar 2012, 16:06, Reply)
Oh man, you should try them, they're alright. They get a bit hot'n'sweaty though, I don't think it's real satin. The regal patterning on them looks ace though.
I've been telling myself that I'm gonna get some silk PJs for 3 months now. I dressed up smart to go to work yesterday and I totally felt like The Man, and I kained it work wise, there were emails about me and how awesome I am at what I do... so tomo I'm gonna spend the most I've ever spent on a single shirt, around £50, if I see one I like. And im gonna try it on in the shop. Gonna do that once every couple of weeks until I'm out of schlocky clothes for work.

Look the part, act the part, be the part. That's ma's motto.

(, Fri 9 Mar 2012, 16:48, Reply)
I just finished it, sorry hon, there's bacon in 'em 'eres potato salad.
Crispy Bacon + juices, Mayo, English Mustard, spring onion*, Potatoes. I get the israeli ones if I can, purely on taste and texture, but I've gone for "Freshly Harvested Miniture new potatos" from marks, donno what bread they are, but I wanted small ones not only tick that box, but they're the cheapest too. I made it just now, doubt it took 15 minutes. It's seriously fucking lush, now when it calls down a bit, i'll hit it with another layer of sauce that won't melt as much... but you need that inital melty bit 'cus that goes into the potato. If I was making for company, I'd pin-prick the potatoes.

Tastes nice, really simple, really lush, it's going with an epic home made BBQ Rib sanwich left over from yesterday. It'll also be good for lunch tomo.

* Why the hell are they now called "Salad Onions" ?
(, Fri 9 Mar 2012, 17:05, Reply)
Pettis Pois would be added if I had the foresite.

(, Fri 9 Mar 2012, 17:06, Reply)
get rid of the bacon (as you should, being a good jewish boy)
and it sounds lush!
(, Fri 9 Mar 2012, 17:22, Reply)
I just had a gob full with the second sploshing of sauce.
Tastes fucking lush, it's really enjoyable to eat, but it's not a looker. JUST LIKE.. wait, I've done this joke before.

Lucky bugger, all I get is X-rays
I've also had my surgery shifted from next friday to next saturday. It's irrational but it has glummed me out bigtime as it is another day added to my time off work and my time recovering. I just want this sorted, sick of being stuck at hom and having no energy. /rant.

Get the silky PJs Gonz ans the nice clothes, you can carry it off and it will make you feel good about youself.
(, Fri 9 Mar 2012, 16:45, Reply)
you should get some really good books
some cake, a computer game then enjoy it more. Perhaps you should have silk PJs, too.

I had an MRI once. I had to take my nipple ring out. Somewhere I have the pics from my ex's arthroscopy (probably spelt wrong, sorry)
(, Fri 9 Mar 2012, 16:48, Reply)
yeah, more or less my plan.
Problem is trying to keep up with family and other commitments, at least to a basic level, also feeling quite depressed but this maybe an after effect of stopping taking codiene I relised I didn't need it for the pain but ws taking it from habit and to cheer me up, so have stopped. This may be withdrawal, if so it should pass in a day or so and I can enjoy a righteous skive.

Huh!?!?! Nipple ring? Kinky.
(, Fri 9 Mar 2012, 16:54, Reply)
yeah, I used to have one
took it out once, and it healed up way too quick.

hmm, I have little advice on keeping up with people, you know how crap I am in college holidays
(, Fri 9 Mar 2012, 16:57, Reply)
should be fine, main prob is putting myself first for once
But I shall force myself. I just can't belive how easily I get tired.

Nipple rings are over rated, never been a fan. Tongue bars are where it's at.
(, Fri 9 Mar 2012, 17:02, Reply)
I don't think you can MRI your thinggy, I could totally be wrong, but I don't think you could be still in that possition for that long.
Dayum man, plus saturday surgery = potential hung over surgon (joke). I totaly know what you mean by the extra day though, that's also another 24 hours of anxiety, as it's natural to be anxious about a blade being taken to the skin. Trust me on this though, get 'em to canulate you _after_ you're put out. It makes no difference to them and it's another less-painful thing for you to go through. Also, get a walkman or whatever with you, a cheap one that doesn't matter in case it gets knicked (which it won't, but still). That way you got something to listen to as you go out (the music blurs and sounds cool) and when you wake up, you won't be as bored and have something to distract the pain.
(, Fri 9 Mar 2012, 17:11, Reply)

Alt: I have a four-day weekend ahead. I will happily swap this with someone who has a no-day weekend.

General point of moanyness: Does anyone actually know their NHS number or is it just me? I only found out that I had one today and if I want to register with a local surgery I have to go through loads of bollocks that'll take at least a couple of weeks, at which point I probably won't want to go to the doctor.

there's a men's perfume called Story. The bottle is in the shape of a book. It's very nice. You know, on a man. Obviously.
(, Fri 9 Mar 2012, 18:58, Reply)
This is something I've always thought, since I was a kid.
There is one perfume that I love, I donno what it's called, but I've always liked it, since I was little. Ma' wore it when I was a kid, and it smells of "Parents are going out for the evening so Izabel* is coming over and I can stay up late and go on the internet**", it's really homely to me, and reminds me of sitting on the bed watching my parents get dressed up, just waiting for them to leave the house.

~~~~~ WAVEY LINES ~~~~
Anyway, my thought has always been, men like to smell women's perfume, and visa-versa. The idea is so it attracts them, so they like it. So why don't blokes just wear girl's perfume and visa-versa so they can have that smell all the time?
I mean, I thought this before I started liking girls and all that.
* She was our cleaner and baby sitter, but she litterally used to spend at least like 75% her wages on sweets for me, she was the closest I've ever had to a grandparent. I lost touch when I hit about 20 and I've tried every year since to get in contact, it wouldn't supprise me if she ain't around these days, but I proper loved her like a granny. Even when I moved out of the 'rents home, she would take 3 busses to clean my flat and she hid the wages until she left. She was proper good to me.
** From when you paid by the minute.
Yeah', that's what I mean, I was 12 and wanted Ben Sherman 'cus that was the in-thing for 12 year olds back in the day.
I was, probably (can't remember) being a brat 'cus I didn't get what I wanted (I got better).
I think I might be, you know. wouldn't supprise me. Aside from some tablets and a mouth of water, I was Nill By Mouth 'till 1...
... and at that point, it was a liter of some kind of sollution stuff. I normally drink at least a pint of liquid every hour 'cus the tablets make me thursty, but I ain't today. Gonna make sure I drink.
I don't reckon it's stress, I ain't ever had a stress related headache before, and I ain't under particular bad pressure at the mo', no worst than normal.
(, Fri 9 Mar 2012, 18:57, Reply)
If your temples are sunken then it's very likely to be dehydration.
Take a few paracetamol, then drink a few litres of water. You should start to feel better after half an hour or so.
Assuming you're allowed to drink again, that is. If not, having a shower or bath works almost as well.
(, Fri 9 Mar 2012, 19:00, Reply)
Yeah', I'm alright to drink, I got para in my usual evening stuff, can't have any more, but trust me, I've nuked this one when it comes to painkillers.
nah, this is the art room
so it's just going to be white, but I'll be covering it in whiteboards and cork and things to make notes on. Going to be a darkroom, too, so I have to get blackout blinds, too. Didn't mean to start it for a few weeks
other than pictures of layers of paint and wallpaper
Time for a dull TD anecdote
We were in a boozer in Okehampton once, which sold real cider. Hot day, sitting outside, looking up some woman's skirt.
I scoffed three pints of this real cider and wondered what all the West Country nonces raved about it for - I wasn't pissed at all. Then I stood up to go for a slash and fell flat on my face.
Cider gets me pissed from the feet up.
(, Fri 9 Mar 2012, 21:43, Reply)
Mate, you know I love my gadgets and technology, a complete enphusiast who encouridges others, but I really think the '4G' model is a waste of time anywhere outside of the states.
1) Does the countrie(s) you go to support LTE? www.quora.com/What-countries-currently-support-4G-LTE
2) If you're using a UK chip, then despite allowances, they don't work abroad, so inside europe you'll be paying about [can't remember exactly] £2/mb, if you're outside of europe, then you're looking at about £6/mb (seriously, I ran 222mb @ £6/mb by accident in one day, in north cyprus).
3) At 75mb/s, or whatever it is exactly, for maths lets say it runs at 50mb/s, a 5GB monthly allouance will be potentially complete inside 1 minute and 40 seconds.
The only way it would be worth it, is if you go to just one of those LTE countries, and get a local datacard for that country, but be locked into some kind of PAYG or monthly contract, which'll odds are it'll fill up straight away.
(, Fri 9 Mar 2012, 21:58, Reply)
I am going to be spending a lot of time in the states with work in future.
They are paying all costs apart from purchase & extended warranty, both of which I can claim back against tax. So I can't really lose.
Houston I don't know at all, Seattle I've not spent much time in, NY is just a huge blob.
(, Fri 9 Mar 2012, 22:08, Reply)
I hate NY after 36 hours there (been there at least 30 times over the last 8 years). Like Seattle - much more laid back than a lot of other places in the US. Yet to go to Dallas.
I know the states quite well, working at Coca-Cola I spent loads of time in Atlanta (often 6 weeks at a time), also spent quite a bit in San Diego, Arkansas (Bentonville) and Chicago (which I dislike almost as much as NY).
Went to Boston at Christmas and liked it.
16gb ram in a laptop? I donno how that...[goes to ebuyer]... Woh', when did 8gb laptop dimms come out? That's some expensive kit, whats the screen like? How comes you got such high end kit, I can't imagine you coming close to using that much spec.
(, Fri 9 Mar 2012, 22:13, Reply)
I used to use some very RAM heavy db software. That's the only reason.
(, Fri 9 Mar 2012, 22:16, Reply)
Must be a big DB, and/or have some kind of caching/optimisation issues.
The DB would have to take up most of the HD to need that kind of requirement.
Not saying that the DBA or whatever is at fault, some systems don't scale and it's unforceable, if something doesn't take up any seconds, then timsing that by a million percent DB growth is still going to show a 0% time increase.... if you get what I mean.
