You should hang your gut in shame over this debacle Bobby.

I think the only thing his gut's hanging over is his belt.

I feel like my balls are in my guts and they're being tendorised by someone who's never touched a pair before. OH WOE IS ME, gutted and aww didums, never mind, they'll be better in a couple of weeks at most.

I'm watching Zombieland and drinking cider.
Monty will be torn between smugly ecstatic I've started drinking again and utterly gutted I watched a zombie flick while doing so.
(, Sat 10 Mar 2012, 19:49, Reply)
as long as its nice cider
and in moderation and the zombies don't win in the end all will be fine

Weston's 2010 Vintage.
I'd rather not be drinking at all, just broken three months off the booze. I went to Tesco for curry and came out with curry and booze. I've had an epically fucking shit week.
(, Sat 10 Mar 2012, 20:11, Reply)
I don't like cider

It got a bit cold at footy this afternoon, so I've decided to stay in this evening.

I've just got to go to the shops and get something for dinner and then it's feet up time!
(, Sat 10 Mar 2012, 20:22, Reply)
That's fine by me, I'm the one drinking it.
Zombieland is ace, but needs more zombies.

Evening all
Londoners: If you were going to be working near Moorgate, where would be a good place to rent a flat? Zone 1 looks pretty expensive.

I have had a cheese and brisket sandwich and am now pretty tired of Brisket.
(, Sat 10 Mar 2012, 20:24, Reply)
You can go zone 5 Enfield, train'll take 20-25 minutes. Considerably cheaper.

(, Sat 10 Mar 2012, 20:27, Reply)
Ta
That'll be actual trains rather than Underground, yeah?
(, Sat 10 Mar 2012, 20:33, Reply)
Ya, straight into moorgate, loads better than the under ground. Anywhere zone 3,4,5 on that trainline. Finsbury park would end up more expensive bit morning commute of 15 minutes which is fuck all for London

(, Sat 10 Mar 2012, 20:39, Reply)
Cool
Off to look on Zoopla for flats in Finsbury Park.
(, Sat 10 Mar 2012, 20:53, Reply)
When do you start?

(, Sat 10 Mar 2012, 21:01, Reply)
I haven't even had a phone interview yet
But I'm trying to get a feel for how it might be if I got offered it. How expensive it is to live down there and such.
(, Sat 10 Mar 2012, 21:05, Reply)
How is it looking, will it be more lucrative being in the capital?

Probably about half again as much salary
Which would be nice. More pressure though, going from the Civil Service to OTC derivative processing systems.

Nothing to lose by being in the game, Lighty.

(, Sat 10 Mar 2012, 21:54, Reply)
Tru dat
except for, you know, not being able to take the pressure and getting sacked after 6 months so having given up a safe and decently paid job with a great pension and moving to a city where I know only b3tans.

And so are most of the days.

Did you win this afternoon, then? After a promising initial five minutes, we managed to get royally creamed in teh rugby. Just for a change.
(, Sat 10 Mar 2012, 21:52, Reply)
Nope, City lost.
And it got a bit cold, so after the game I decided against going out.

What have you done today?
(, Sat 10 Mar 2012, 21:53, Reply)
Ooh, lots.
Ran some errands, walked the dog, took some photos, did some washing, played an unfeasible amount of a computer game.
Now I'm trying to psyche myself up to pack a bag for tomorrow.
So if you're not going out, what are you planning?
(, Sat 10 Mar 2012, 21:57, Reply)
Watch some telly, listen to the music maybe have a beer.

You can't beat a bit of Fred Wedlock.
We were listening to him in the car the other day. mr b3th wrote him a song shortly before he died and emailed it to him. He was really nice about it, wrote back and everything.
(, Sat 10 Mar 2012, 22:04, Reply)
Arr, Fred was indeed a diamond.
I met him on a couple of occasions. A really nice bloke.

Is Mr b3th a bit of a songwriter then?
(, Sat 10 Mar 2012, 22:08, Reply)
He writes poems. funny ones.
Sort of a male Pam Ayres. You ever listen to Radio Bristol?
(, Sat 10 Mar 2012, 22:10, Reply)
I do listen to Radio Bristol, but only for a sport
When should I listen?
(, Sat 10 Mar 2012, 22:11, Reply)
Weekday lunchtimes.
The guy that does the show is a twat, but he reads all mr b3th's poems and letters. If you hear about [mr b3th's real name] from Weston, that'll be him.

If my train is delayed or meets any problems, I've got an hour to kill at Temple Meads. Do you think the bars are still open there after 10pm?
(, Sat 10 Mar 2012, 22:32, Reply)
Yeah, you'll get a drink either in Temple Meads
Or the Reckless Engineer over the road from the station, or, if you don't fancy the metal pub, there is the Knights Templer outside the station too.

Staff there will direct you.

direct abduct and rape

Hopefully I'll be alright. It's just a bit tight. I have fifteen minutes between trains, and if I miss the five to ten, the next one isn't till five past eleven.
