I youtubed Shellac this morning.

(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 20:53, Reply)
Good call
Although I'm sure Albini would prefer you to seek them out on wax cylinder.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 20:54, Reply)
Which makes it all the more Albiniesque that I defied him.
Do you know that he's a poker player?
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 20:59, Reply)
Yeah, there was a link a while back (in the newsletter?)
Where he offered to answer any question on some online poker forum.
It was a fairly entertaining read before he started getting annoyed about non-poker players having got wind of it.

I am watching Heat.

Isn't that a celebrity magazine?

(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:07, Reply)
Your mum's a celebrity magazine.

(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:16, Reply)
She totally is
I can't look at her without seeing minor celebrities looking a bit fat or actresses doing their shopping without the full make-up they wear in their day jobs. And just the other day she paid someone I'd never heard of a small fortune to take photos of their living room.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:22, Reply)
The Michael Mann film.

(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:19, Reply)
Michael Mann made a film based on a celebrity magazine?

(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:22, Reply)
Is Michael Mann a celebrity?

(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:26, Reply)
Michael Mann is your mum.

(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:28, Reply)
He totally is
He's always making autobiographical films about his life as a celebrity magazine and I'm all like, mum can't you just be a normal mother and grandmother?
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:39, Reply)
Yes.
It is very stylish.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:27, Reply)
But I'm back
I don't know for how long, though, I can't make any promises.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:16, Reply)
How are you doing Aber?
Adjusted to life with a baby yet?

Fuck off back to ... oh.

(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:19, Reply)
There are days and days
Life would be easier if he slept naps and didn't require someone talking to him all the time.

How are you?
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:19, Reply)
Have you tried leaving a dictaphone next to it?
Do you talk to it in Spanish?
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:22, Reply)
I've tried the TV
and it doesn't work for long, he likes seeing someone in front of him.

Yes, I speak Spanish to him, and sing in Spanish too.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:24, Reply)
Good stuff. I wish I'd been brought up Bilingual.
And failing that I wish I'd been given a basic grasp of English Grammar so that I would find it easier to learn foreign languages.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:25, Reply)
Yes, Mark says the same all the time
Lucas will be brought up trilingual with a bit of luck, and he'll be teaching us Mandarin in no time.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:27, Reply)
What's the third language?

(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:28, Reply)
Mandarin
We're moving to Shanghai in a few months.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:30, Reply)
Holy shit.
I hope that goes well for you.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:32, Reply)
Me too
I'm looking forward to it, although I'm nervous as well.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:35, Reply)
Doing ok
My tiny tangle is four months old today and is considerably easier to deal with than her brother ever was.
You'll be fine, it gets easier...
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:25, Reply)
Is that because you gaffa taped her to a stick?

(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:25, Reply)
You have to go with what works

(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:27, Reply)
Four months is a good time
Starting to do more funny things, and asking for solids, I suppose.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:29, Reply)
She is lovely right now
Grinning and giggling all the time and being fascinated and highly amused by her brother.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:41, Reply)
That sounds so sweet
I wish we could meet and introduce the babies to each other, I bet they'd enjoy it.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:45, Reply)
They might
Other babies are often entertaining. And bigger children are utterly mesmerising.
On the other hand, they could be entirely indifferent to one another.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:58, Reply)
He quite enjoys
looking at other babies and has started trying to play with them too. It's really cute.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 22:00, Reply)
*yawn*
And in the adult world....
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 22:04, Reply)
Really?
We're starting to ask ourselves if and when we want another... Lucas never stops, never; and it gets very tiring. We don't know if it's better to give him a sibling as soon as possible, or wait until we can handle him.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:29, Reply)
Well there are six years between my two...
I think there are pros and cons for both small and large age gaps.
You'll be ready when you are ready. It's a bit early to worry about it.
Generally speaking I think siblings are a good idea though.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:36, Reply)
Yeah,
we won't be bringing another baby to the world just yet, it's just that this one is so tiring...

I have 2 siblings and I think it was great growing up with them, even if my sister and I were fighting all the time.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:42, Reply)
If you think he's tiring now
Imagine trying to look after him while pregnant.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:45, Reply)
Yes, I know
That's what puts me off, especially as I had such a bad pregnancy.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:46, Reply)
Just enjoy your current one for now
There is plenty of time to think about siblings. And I think you've got enough to concern yourself with if you are moving across the world.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:49, Reply)
Yes, that is true
Hopefully he'll soon be able to entertain himself a bit and I'll get some time to relax (or cook, clean, pack...)
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:53, Reply)
No, sorry
Your life is over now.
(, Mon 9 Apr 2012, 21:55, Reply)
Hahaha
That made me chuckle. I imagine you're right and I'll have to get used to it.
