I've decided Sausages have no place at a BBQ
they ruin everything else on the grill by burning to fuck and spitting fat into the flames.
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 15:39, 3 replies, latest was 12 years ago)
This is wrong on so many levels
Mainly the sausage level
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 15:41, Reply)
Nope, it is correct, you're a fool
I bet you'll say bacon is good on a bbq next, or Pate.
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 15:42, Reply)
Bacon is no good on a BBQ as it shrinks too much
Sausages are always good though. A bit of smoke from the fat makes everything taste better
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 15:43, Reply)
They make everything burn, sausages are great, but they're not the highlight of a bbq and shouldn't ruin the meat party.

(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 15:47, Reply)
+ spin
sorry.
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 15:54, Reply)
Ain't no party like a meatspin party

Nope, I'm correct.
Fry or if you must bake them.
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 15:44, Reply)
Or cook them
but just don't cook anything else at the same time.

Or try having your barbecue at the correct temperature.
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 15:49, Reply)
bake? how the fuck you bake a sausage? man you crazy
you grill that bad boy, bbq or gtfo
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 15:51, Reply)
How do you make toad in the hole?
I'm guessing "badly"
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 15:53, Reply)
Fry them first, then pour the batter round

(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 15:54, Reply)
BAKE THEM WITH ONIONS AND GARLIC
Then you get garlicy yorkshire pudding
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 15:55, Reply)
Sounds fucking horrible

(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 15:56, Reply)
fucking hell. That sounds rancid.
I've put fresh sage in yorkshires to have with pork, and tarragon to have with chicken, but garlic is just wrong.
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 15:58, Reply)
What the fuck is wrong with you people?

(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 16:00, Reply)

(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 16:02, Reply)

gross
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 15:59, Reply)
No.
Just no. Maybe fry them quickly with the onions, then use the onions and fat from that to make gravy.

But garlic? No.
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 16:11, Reply)
This is correct, Chompy is not

(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 16:13, Reply)
I'm picking up some rather good sausages on Saturday

(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 16:22, Reply)

It depends on a lot of factors but on the whole I agree. If you have a gas bbq that's fine, but it's wrong anyway. I find lamb, chicken and pork to be awesome on the bbq, I am great a cooking beef in the kitchen but struggle with steaks on the bbq for some reason.
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 15:53, Reply)
Doesn't a gas barbecue rather defeat the object of having a barbecue?
Or have I somehow misunderstood?
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 15:54, Reply)

I think so, but some people love them.
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 15:56, Reply)
Lazy people?

(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 15:58, Reply)
Or 'students', as we call them.

(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 16:02, Reply)
hahahahahaha!
Excellent!
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 16:02, Reply)
This^
Gas BBQ = cheating. It is simply an outside cooker. All BBQ food should be slightly burned and slightly raw at the same time. This is why you use hot chilli sauce and beer to kill off the germs/potential death
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 15:57, Reply)
My friend has one that uses gas to light the coal, and get it up to temperature quickly
It's rather good.
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 16:11, Reply)
I'll allow this

(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 16:12, Reply)
I tend to only use thin, average steaks if I'm doing them on the BBQ, as our one isn't great
So any good steaks would be a waste.
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 16:10, Reply)
Good steaks need careful cooking
Thin ones are excellent on a BBQ, a much better thing to have than a burger
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 16:11, Reply)
Depends if they're good burgers
I get both steak and burgers, then cut the steaks down to bun size.
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 16:14, Reply)
There is an excellent butchers near to me that does really good BBQ stuff
The trouble with our garden is it is east facing and our house is tall, hence post-4pm our back garden is in the shade
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 16:16, Reply)
Exactly the same at our place, sadly!
We have a wholesaler near us, that's where I go for all my BBQ stuff, so cheap in comparison to other places.
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 16:17, Reply)
Last time we all decanted to the front and sat in the sun
I see we, more everyone but me who was cooking in the back garden
(, Wed 11 Apr 2012, 16:18, Reply)
No front garden sadly, just one long side & back garden. I suppose we could shift down to the back, that'll give us an extra 2 hours.
