Great players, shit manager. Kenny isn't good enough anymore.

(, Tue 17 Apr 2012, 23:33, 1 reply, 12 years ago)
Much as I hate to admit it, I agree with you. (on the anymore bit)
However, I don't think sacking him will make any difference this year. Give him til the end of the season, let him 'bow out', and appoint another manager. Just not fucking Rafa.
(, Tue 17 Apr 2012, 23:35, Reply)
Oh yeah, I agree. No point in doing anything now but give new fella time to sort his own team out.

(, Tue 17 Apr 2012, 23:36, Reply)
Kenny is unsackable.
They'll 'move him upstairs'
(, Tue 17 Apr 2012, 23:36, Reply)
As long as its upstairs , in the dark, near an open window.

(, Tue 17 Apr 2012, 23:37, Reply)
I'm fine with that

(, Tue 17 Apr 2012, 23:37, Reply)
Before they do that though, Kenny will have to spend some time in hospital....
He needs to have that fucking jacket surgically removed.
(, Tue 17 Apr 2012, 23:41, Reply)
Haha

(, Tue 17 Apr 2012, 23:41, Reply)
It was the same last time.
He how one coat and lived in it.

Maybe you employed the wrong Kenny. Kenny Jacket might be a better bet.
(, Tue 17 Apr 2012, 23:45, Reply)
Better?

(, Tue 17 Apr 2012, 23:46, Reply)
Oh my god!
It's King Kenny.
(, Tue 17 Apr 2012, 23:48, Reply)
Click.

(, Tue 17 Apr 2012, 23:50, Reply)
Haha

(, Tue 17 Apr 2012, 23:51, Reply)
Kenny wasn't good enough when he managed Newcastle.
He had luck on his side in his first season and finished well, but that was down to the team Keegan had assembled. Which he proceeded to dismantle the next near and they dallied with relegation despite reaching the FA cup final. In which they were dreadful.

And he's a miserable twisty faced sourpuss.
(, Tue 17 Apr 2012, 23:38, Reply)
Come back when Alan Pardew has won the league 4 times, the FA cup twice, and the League cup once
Haha

He's certainly a guy with his ups and downs.
(, Tue 17 Apr 2012, 23:41, Reply)
Oh he was good in his day I'll grant you.
But Pardew's doing an excellent job so far AND I'd lay odds that a lot more clubs start following Newcastle's financial model. Maybe not Man U, Chelsea, Arsenal, City or Liverpool initially, but a lot of lesser clubs will lest they go the way of Rangers, Portsmouth et al.
(, Tue 17 Apr 2012, 23:46, Reply)
Albion aren't doing too badly with a first XI that cost less than Andy Carroll

(, Tue 17 Apr 2012, 23:49, Reply)
I'd love one of the big clubs to implode financially.
Maybe that would bring the game down a peg or two in terms of the sheer fucking idiocy of the financial scale the top tier is operating at.
(, Tue 17 Apr 2012, 23:52, Reply)
Well rangers weren't far off.

(, Tue 17 Apr 2012, 23:53, Reply)
Have Rangers been saved at the last minute then?

(, Tue 17 Apr 2012, 23:56, Reply)
Think so yeah.

(, Tue 17 Apr 2012, 23:58, Reply)
I've missed the news the last few days.

(, Tue 17 Apr 2012, 23:59, Reply)

I thought they got bought a week or so ago?
(, Wed 18 Apr 2012, 0:00, Reply)
Not sure, I'd have to check.

(, Wed 18 Apr 2012, 0:02, Reply)
On the way back, I was listening to TalkSport
McCoist has asked the administrators to say who the preferred bidders are so he can start planning for next season.

They've not been saved yet.
(, Wed 18 Apr 2012, 0:05, Reply)
Watch this space then.

(, Wed 18 Apr 2012, 0:06, Reply)
*watches*

(, Wed 18 Apr 2012, 0:08, Reply)
Wait for it.

(, Wed 18 Apr 2012, 0:10, Reply)
I can't help but wonder if Sky Sports news might be a better bet.

(, Wed 18 Apr 2012, 0:12, Reply)

Fair cop
(, Wed 18 Apr 2012, 0:13, Reply)
Well it won't be Arsenal who implode.
I thought Liverpool was in a dicey situation when those two yanks had fallen out.

And Man United seem to be (slowly) getting on top of things.

It'll be either Chelsea or Man City who go under.
(, Tue 17 Apr 2012, 23:54, Reply)
The Glazers certainly have a good chance of imploding in a few years time

(, Tue 17 Apr 2012, 23:54, Reply)
I agree with you
However, I'm also programmed to dislike Pardew, as he was likely part of the reason we paid £35 fucking million for Carroll. Don't get me wrong, I know he's a good player. But that price tag is ridiculous, and he has admitted that knowing that has affected him more than once.

I justify it to myself by pointing out we paid less than £7 million a year for him if he sees out his contract. It's delusional, I know, but it stops me from going foetal.
(, Tue 17 Apr 2012, 23:51, Reply)
I honestly think that Pardew had nowt to do with it.
Ashley and Lambias saw the opportunity for an inflated return on a virtually untested player and took it. Neither Carroll or Pardew had any say in the matter at all. A mate of Carroll's was on the local radio just after it happened and was reading out texts from him, and he patently did not want to go.
(, Tue 17 Apr 2012, 23:55, Reply)
Plus, contracts are not worth the spunk they'e written in.
case in point: Carroll, who had just signed a four or five year contract. I'm also fully expecting Krul and Tiote to go in the summer for the same reason.
(, Tue 17 Apr 2012, 23:59, Reply)
I can't see Krul going
Ashley seems to be learning (very fucking slowly) to back off. I can't imagine Pardew letting Krul leave. I don't think he'll have a choice with Tiote though, clubs are looking outside England for players atm, as soon as they look inside the Premiership, a lot of players will move, with Dempsey and Tiote being two of them, I think.
(, Wed 18 Apr 2012, 0:03, Reply)
I suspect you might be right about Tiote.
I wouldn't mind him going if Krul stayed AND Newcastle managed to pick up a decent replacement for Tiote. Which they may manage if they get into Europe.
(, Wed 18 Apr 2012, 0:12, Reply)
Fair enough

(, Wed 18 Apr 2012, 0:22, Reply)
Ha! You might have that fancy 'paper' in the North East.
We've got PENS.
(, Wed 18 Apr 2012, 0:05, Reply)
Yeah, but spunk is the ultimate contract signing medium.
Leave to dry and then just shake the paper vigorously. It's like etch-a-sketch for deviants.
