Poor Navi.I was reading about the phsycology behind her a few years ago, and that they realised a cirtian way into OoT that they didn't have a way of informing Link of complicated controls and game mechanics that had never been seen before. They tried to use signposts that you can read, but people sometimes chopped them down before reading them and getting stuck. And they also realised that, as a character who never talks, Link 'felt' was a bit loanly in their tests.
