This is a question Lies that got out of control

Ever claimed you could speak a foreign language to impress friends, colleagues and/or get laid? Make a twat of yourself - and I couldn't possibly comment - saying you were the godson of the chairman of BP? Tell us how your porkies have caught up with you

(Thanks to augsav and Sandettie Light Vessel Automatic for the suggestions)

Working in a computer shop
this regular loudmouth comes into the store with a game in his hand, a reciept in the other and a grim look on his face.

He marches upto the counter with the brand new game of the time for the PSX - "Final Fantasy 7" no doubt.

"This is rubbish!" he exclaims, with a bravado normally used by people who are trying to reanimate the dead in an abandoned windmill.

"What???" says us, "This is a modern day classic....let me guess, you don't like that kind of game, that's ok."
"No it's not that at all" he lies.
"Yes it is, you don't like it. You can say that, it's ok, we'll understand."
"No, it looks good, but it's too easy" he lies again.
"Easy? Explain."
"Well I finished the first disk in under an hour and a half*."

"You fucking liar hahahaha" we shout in unison and point at him, nerds united at the slanderous felon. He dared not challenge us again with these lies of gaming villany, no sir!

I used to like working there to a certain degree. We could call customers cunts to their face and get away with it :D

*this took on average approximately 7.5 hrs to complete per player, as the game's introduction and story a good few hours to get through, let alone playing the game. I'm such a fucking nerd it's unbelievable

...I may waste my day watching that now.

fucking hell!
Ever seen the Elder Scrolls: Morrowind speed completion? Watched it on youtube once, 15 minutes to beat the final boss from creating his character.

PS the customer had trouble doing his fucking shoe laces, let alone finish stuff in a hurry...

Yeah, I remember that one.
I swear it can be done faster. ;)
(, Sun 15 Aug 2010, 14:10, closed)
Yep
There's a youtube vid of just over 5 mins I believe

It took me 30
Just to create my character.

^^this
Was an odd game; the anti-gravity wizard outside the village at the beginning always made me laugh :)

First disk - 7.5 hours?
You'll be lucky! I'd say the average player would have just reached Kalm (and either be stuck behind that guy walking slowly up the stairs or lost in the past)

Anyone that doesn't like FF7
Would incur a life time ban from any shop where I worked. I've just clocked FF8 so played 100+ hours. Took the time to get the rare GF's like, Doomtrain and Eden got to the 4th disk only to realise that the 4th disk doesn't work....Grrrrrrrrrr! Anyone know a cheap place to buy another copy??

Edit - Fuck me the platinum version still sells for £49.95 :\

Ewwww, christ, that's hefty
it would be cheaper to chip your old PSX and download the last CD image.

Not that this is leagl mind you.......*whistles*

Thanks for the tip
Jec, think I will bite the bullet and buy it 2nd hand, all advertised as slightly worn 4th disk....risky but worth it to start kicking butt in Ulticemia's castle.

Good man.
Or alternatively FF7, 8 and 9 are all available on the PSP now straight from the Playstation Network. Could never fully get into 8 much, preferred 7 and 9 myself.

Or there is a program that lets you convert PSX games straight to the PSP too....ahhh the bliss of popsloader :D

I have a PSP
So I'll look into it, will definately save me a few quid...Cheers :D

In 8 they wanted it to look more realistic but the fact that I never bothered to complete it tells a story. 7 and 9 are really similar in the way they look and are probably my favourites as well.

FF7 is awesome, as is FFX
I downloaded 8 a couple of weeks back, and am already annoyed at it. Will go back to it in a week though, I'm sure!
