This is a question Prejudice

"Are you prejudiced?" asks StapMyVitals. Have you been a victim of prejudice? Are you a columnist for a popular daily newspaper? Don't bang on about how you never judge people on first impressions - no-one will believe you.

Prejudice in the NHS
I broke my arm playing rugby a month ago, and ended up in the A&E department of a West Yorkshire hospital. When I explained how it occurred, the first question was often "League or Union?" (the answer being Union).

On the Saturday night, the retort from the triage nurse, nurse practitioner and plaster room nurse (all female) was always along the lines of a scornful "Union's a poof's game, we all watch league".

On the Monday morning, the reply from the orthopaedic surgeon and registrar was a beaming "Excellent, good man".

I once had a conversation in Leeds
with a bunch of Rhino fans (as am I, in fact announced in Headingly as the furthest away fan in the World!! over the Tannoy an everything!!) about the difference between League and Union (like both, played both) Once we got past the "all Union players are poofs" stage I explained that whereas League was more physical to play, Union was more likely to cause injury due to the chaotic nature of play, especially if you were a prop (like me), and I had several old scars to prove it. They all nodded sagely to me explanation and came back with, but you lot are still poofs..
