Not exactly on topic, but...back in the days when computer magazines used to print program listings for you to type in, I remember being mightily impressed by the wit of one BBC Basic author who defined a time delay procedure thusly:

Sniff...I was too poor to have a BBC micro - I had the Acorn Atom (woo - 12k RAM, 12k ROM). And I've still got it, along with a Model B I picked up at a car boot sale and many other 80's 'puters - they all live in snee's museum (aka: the attic).
