This is a question Inflated Self-Importance

Amorous Badger asks: Tell us tales of people who have a high opinion of themselves. Jumped-up officials, the mad old bloke who runs the Neighbourhood Watch like it's a military operation, Colonel Blimps, pompous bastards and people stuck up their own arse.

Well, it's kind of on topic...
A few years back I was using the local Freecycle a bit - getting rid of my junk and collecting other people's junk (I did get a brand new bed though).

One day, browsing through the ads, I read that one woman had "just got a new dog - he's quite small and cold. Does anyone have any dog jackets?"

Chuckling to myself, I made my own ad: "Just got a Korean cookbook - does anyone have any small dogs, preferably cold"

And the shit hit the fan - I have the screenshots somewhere, but it seems people around here just don't have a sense of humour.

Anyway, the self righteous board moderator (or whatever they are called), banned me, and warned another freecycler for daring to laugh at my ad.

I got banned from my town's freecycle
For putting in my personal profile/bio that I was looking for baby stuff as I am pregnant. Apparently, that was not in keeping with freecycle's ethos as I was requesting specific items. Freecycle are a bunch of Communist Nazi Bastards.

Really?
On my local freecycle it's okay to request items.
Seen some really pie in the sky ones:-
Wanted:car
Wanted:xBox360
Wanted:Complete house contents.

I got banned from my local one for a week because I said I would give a computer to anyone who could help with a want I had
Apparently offering something in return is not allowed. Bastards

I regularly get warnings from freecycle admins
because I live on the junction of 4 freecycle areas.

Every time I post to just one of them (carefully not triggering the "thou shalt not crosspost" rule), I get a note from the admin for that area that I don't live there and should post in another one.

Round and round we go. Every time. Fuckers.

Freecycle is shit
although early on we did get a good sofa.
Now the hoarders and boot sale/flea market gypos scoop all the good stuff and post items that they don't have and pretend it's been taken.
The hoarders however have taken some total crap and saved me a trip to the dump.
