This is a question Tactless

As grandmasterfluffles puts it, "My ex once told me, "That's the best sex I've ever had... Well, apart from with my cousin..."
What's the most tactless thing you've heard? And was it you saying it?

The epitome of tactlessness...
...would be attributed to the friend who bought me a DVD copy of Logan's Run for my thirtieth birthday a while back.

Bastard.

On my 26th birthday my mate put in his card
"Only 14 years away from 40", and my mother informed me that I was now closer to 50 than I was to my birth.

Lather was thirty years old today,
They took away all of his toys.
His mother sent newspaper clippings to him,
About his old friends who'd stopped being boys.
There was Harwitz E. Green, just turned thirty-three,
His leather chair waits at the bank.
And Seargent Dow Jones, twenty-seven years old,
Commanding his very own tank.
But Lather still finds it a nice thing to do,
To lie about nude in the sand,
Drawing pictures of mountains that look like bumps,
And thrashing the air with his hands.

But wait, oh Lather's productive you know,
He produces the finest of sound,
Putting drumsticks on either side of his nose,
Snorting the best licks in town,
But that's all over...

Lather was thirty years old today,
And Lather came foam from his tongue.
He looked at me eyes wide and plainly said,
Is it true that I'm no longer young?
And the children call him famous,
And the old men call him insane,
And sometimes he's so nameless,
That he hardly knows which game to play...
Which words to say...
And I should have told him, "No, you're not old."
And I should have let him go on...smiling...babywide.

cheer up!
you're in line to see Jenny Agutter's breasts. That should take the sting out of it.

I turned 48 this year
And a mate pointed out that it was now legal for me to shag a girl 1/3 my age, and young enough to be my grand-daughter.

"Good job 16-year-old girls think you're a twat, really."

Yeah, thanks for that.

16 year olds thinking you're a twat, is the reason that you're not shagging them?
...
*smacks nonce alarm*
Why isn't this thing going off?

Is there something sticky
in the works?

I bought a 70s copy of the book for a friend turning 30. She had never heard of it but was fascinated by the concept; I think she was probably a bit let down by the book, to be honest.

However, for various reasons I wrote the words to 'Dear Nikki' in the front cover as part of a dedication (it was relevant, in several ways).

Some parts of that evening's birthday dinner were a bit stilted, I though. You know, some things a bit cold. It turned out her mum had popped up to see her in her hotel room that afternoon, found the book, found the inscription and, not being overly familiar with the Prince canon, assumed that the lyrics were actually a reminscence...

My god did I get in trouble for that one.

I've never seen it so I just looked it up on Wikipedia
I read the plot of the book and thought "This sounds good, I'll try and find a cheap DVD of it!"

...then read the (completely different) plot of the film O_o
