This is a question Unemployed

I was Mordred writes, "I've been out of work for a while now... however, every cloud must have a silver lining. Tell us your stories of the upside to unemployment."

You can tell us about the unexpected downsides too if you want.

Good job I'm not unemployed
According to www.entitledto.co.uk/ I wouldn't get a bean.

Is this what is meant by "irony"?
I'm comfortably in the higher income tax bracket, and pay a shitload in NI contributions, therefore I contribute a significant amount to keeping dole-scrounging chavs in the lifestyle to which they've become accustomed.

Yet, according to that calculator, if I were to lose my job I'd get fuck all.

Where's the justice in that? I swear, my parents should never have raised me properly. They should have just encouraged me to leech off the state from day one.

I think it's because I have savings over £6,000
However, If I pissed that up the wall in a couple of days on drugs, booze and hookers, I *would* get free money.
