This is a question Waste of money

I once paid a small fortune to a solicitor in a legal case. She got lost on the way to court, turned up late with the wrong papers and started an argument with the judge, who told her to "shut up, for the love of God". A stunning investment.

Thanks to golddust for the suggestion

Today I orderd one of these

I've never bought a new car before. I know I may as well go out in the garden and burn 5 grand, but...you know...what the fuck, we'll all be dead soon.

I have a 2004 Passat - love it.
Only owned American cars afore that, but since back surgery, I needed something that didn't bounce me all over hell and back (at least not every day).

Not a fan of VW at all
however their Passat's are lovely to drive. Had one for a few months on hire - nice & smooth, and it went like shit off a shovel (6 gears) on the autobahn. Enjoy.

Not only the five grand
You know that "new car smell"? It's carcinogenic.

since you asked
CC GT with 2 litre 170ps diesel.

Only extras are adaptive cruise control & DAB radio...and I've got that Christmas eve feeling, that I've not felt since I was eight.

Beware
My son has a V6TD A6 with cruise control. It's very convenient except that it nails your fuel consumption by about 20% ! My theory is that it's always on and off the throttle to maintain the speed and diesels don't like that; they like long distances at a steady throttle setting.

Thanks for the tip
I'm going to risk it though.

I had a
2001 Passat B6 TDi 130bhp Diesel Estate (Station Wagon to you merkins) and I fucking loved it. Quick, handled well and used bugger all juice. Leaked like a fucking sieve though, I ended up lifting the carpets and punching the plastic out of the floor to drain the couple of inches of water I had slopping about. It's a B6 problem but VW won't admit it cos the they'll have to pay to recall them.
New ones are way better though, and the CC looks a beautiful car.
