Long before they were signed and they were a traveller-type band,
they played a gig in Kingsworthy near where I am from, and they gave us a lift to their gig in their van, as they were pals with a mate of mine who lived 'on site'. My brother and I had to create a diversion in Oddbins whilst they nicked booze.

Between the entire band they got (IIRC) two cans of bitter and a litre of cider. Pathetic shoplifting, you 'new age renegades. I did however also get given a rather good demo tape which I still have somewhere.
