Now confirmed
The Swiss won in the last 200m of the last race to pip them to gold.

silver is still a good result.
anyway, silver is undervalued relative to gold at the moment so it's potentially a better investment.

Silver is much less useful though, the cost of gold will continue to rise because of its combination of superb conduction and inertness.
Apart from it's antibacterial properties and a few other uses silver is pretty shit in comparison, you certainly won't be seeing any satellites covered with it in the near future.

silver is a better conductor than gold,
and has far more industrial uses.

It's only better if you've got someone to polish it all the time.
Look, don't try arguing about this one, I'm almost certain that you're wrong again.

I mean it has a higher conductivity, of both heat and electricity.
Gold's nonreactivity gives it its advantages of course, especially in contacts which are exposed to the air. If you want a really useful metal though, go for copper or aluminium.

Maybe for 4th and 5th place finishes respectively?
They'd have to make the podiums bigger though, and some people might feel that copper is a little to close to bronze.

actually looking at the 10 year silver price graph here:
therealasset.co.uk/charts-and-graph/silver-price-charts/

and comparing it to the graph here:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jean-Paul_Rodrigue

silver might not be such a good thing to buy right now...

I'll just stick with my original plan and invest in booze instead.

yeah I think you'd be as well to,
I've been hearing people say "Gold/silver is going to hit such-and-such a stupid price, buy buy buy," I think there will be a lot of weeping and gnashing of teeth in a few months.

Sell, sell, sell, buy Euros.
