Everybody's dead, Dave.
Haha, like on the telly!
What have you seen on the telly?

Don't think I want to Google "lemon stealing whore" at work.

google "cum guzzling whores" instead

(, Mon 5 Feb 2018, 11:07, archived)
I made a mistake, it's not the lemon stealing whore who died
it's the other bint in this SFW clip.

And the bloke is a rapist.

No, thanks, don't want whatever that is a my watch history, given that my kids use the my YouTube account, from time to time.

I saw McMaffia
fucking hell, it's slow. It's like scant-noir but not as exciting. I don't know if I can be bothered to watch the last couple of episodes, I just want them all to die, stupid boring wankers.
(, Mon 5 Feb 2018, 11:10, archived)
The title is pretty tragic.
Doesn't have the same ring as its Welsh equivalent, the Taffia.
(, Mon 5 Feb 2018, 11:12, archived)
Title is shit
characters are boring. Dialogue is tedious. At one point James Norton stepped out of the shower with a towel around his waist and another wrapped around his shoulders and me and my partner shouted out "two towels?!?!?!" utterly horrified at the wasteful extravagance on show. The unnecessary generation of dirty laundry did make us very angry.
(, Mon 5 Feb 2018, 11:28, archived)
Was he trying to cover up his moobs or something?

(, Mon 5 Feb 2018, 11:32, archived)
Former model James Norton
doesn't have moobs. That may be why they cast him, it wasn't for his charismatic screen presence.
(, Mon 5 Feb 2018, 11:40, archived)
Fair enough, I had no idea who the lad was.
I've just googled him and am none the wiser. He appears to be one of those oh-I-say daaahling act-orrs.
(, Mon 5 Feb 2018, 12:19, archived)
Cast well he can be good
playing a superficial cad in War And Peace he was great fun to watch, but McMafia is pretty thin and he doesn't have the personality to liven it up. Mind you, it would need someone like Oliver Reed to get that production watchable.
(, Mon 5 Feb 2018, 13:19, archived)
More to the point why was he wearing towels in the shower, that's just stupid

(, Mon 5 Feb 2018, 12:22, archived)
That's why I gave up on The Wire - got two episodes in and nothing had happened.
Also, McMafia sounds like it'd be about burger bar turf wars.
(, Mon 5 Feb 2018, 11:15, archived)
I have to say that The Wire was some of the best TV ever made
not my favourite, I got bored with it during the second series, but the way it shows the workings of US society won my respect. The dialogue was so well put together. One of those shows I think is great, but I only have so much time for.
(, Mon 5 Feb 2018, 11:26, archived)
I'll take entertaining over worthy, any day of the week.

(, Mon 5 Feb 2018, 11:32, archived)
It was entertaining at points
but not enough.

We watched the first 3 or 4, then apparently forgot about it
Says it all, I suppose
(, Mon 5 Feb 2018, 11:24, archived)
I'm going the same way
just hoping they all die in the last couple of episodes, that would make up for the tedium.
(, Mon 5 Feb 2018, 11:29, archived)
For me, I think the turning point
was when I got a handle on what was going on, but realised that I didn't care

I cancelled my netflix this weekend
they've been cutting more and more shows so there's fuck-all left worth watching
(, Mon 5 Feb 2018, 11:26, archived)
Have they?
It's got more than enough to keep me occupied, but I fear that may change when the big studios decide they'd rather have their own streaming services.
(, Mon 5 Feb 2018, 11:29, archived)
My watch list is ridiculous.
They've just added the new Cloverfield film this morning.
They're concentrating more on their original series etc now.
6 quid a month. Can't complain.

Britannia was ok, except that it's half GoT, half Vikings, but not quite as good as either
Enjoying Handmaid's Tale, although it's pretty bleak. Watched the first episode of Altered Carbon. It's alright, I guess. I haven't read the book, so I have no prior opinions on the story. I've got a feeling it might be too nerdy for me, but we'll see.
(, Mon 5 Feb 2018, 11:29, archived)
Dunno what those are.
Except Handmaid's Tale, and that's only because I had to read it in school (until the whole class rebelled and our English teacher conceded that trying to get a class of teenage boys to read her favourite feminist work was a lost cause).
(, Mon 5 Feb 2018, 11:37, archived)
As long as they stick with it, I think Britannia will be one of these shows where people say 'it hit its stride in series 2'
But at the moment, it's wall-to-wall overacting. Like everyone is trying to out-do each other. Which they probably are. There are no huge stars in it, really.
