The 'star' went from cringeworthy "man I'm so well cool look at me yeah" to wooden pouting that would have made Hayden Christensen proud, and back again, for the whole film and made me want to punch him in the face.

Some of the humour felt a little forced (there's no getting away from the fact that Melissa McCarthy is irredeemably awful), but me and the kids had a good time watching it.
The story doesn't really make any sense, but Kate McKinnon's lesbian Egon was great, Chris Hemsworth can't help but be utterly charming, and the original cast cameos were a giggle.
Plus, I rented it for free by spending my Amazon credits, so I had nothing to lose.

Scott Mills picture challange
Ever had your photo taken with a celebrity?
No? Well, we're unable to help, but here's your chance to be up close and personal to our very own Scott Mills.
Below is an example of the picture we're giving you to download - click on it, and a bigger, better quality image will load (it's a big one, so it might take some time). Save the picture that appears, and add yourself into the image or something that will give people a laugh - so you appear next to Scott, looking like his best mate!
Or - even better - if you've got a picture of yourself with a Radio 1 DJ - send that in and we'll add it to the gallery!
Either post them here and if you think there good enough to win a new camera then email it to [email protected]

My dad had his mate over to update our PC with a cracked copy of Office, or some such,
and made a big deal over a handful of porno pics in the download folder. Given that I fastidiously saved all mine to the aforementioned zip drive, I'm reasonably sure they were his, and he was just trying to front it out before his mate found them and ripped the piss out of him.

I also recently heard "What does KFC stand for? Kill the Fucking Chicken", which is not very original in its own right but I was impressed to hear it from a French girl.

Maybe it's just because I went in expecting something a bit more of a fast action film (it was part of a car chase season) and it was more of a mood piece. But The Driver and Vanishing Point do both well.

I watched The Driver the other night though, which parts of Drive deliberately paid homage to; Ryan O'Neil plays a perfect reserved hardman, by comparison up until the point Gosling starts literally cracking heads, he just seems to be a bit of a simpering/autistic person who likes cars.

Well you've clearly made the mistake the rest of us did and assumed it's a car film rather than a neo-noir.
I wouldn't have said it was dull. But putting it in a chase season was odd. I think I had the film equivalent of dozily going into the fridge for a beer, opening the can and taking a mouthful before realising I accidentally grabbed a strongbow.

"Shmup" is a little bit like "shemp".
Shemp Howard was one of the Three Stooges, but is probably best known for being dead for half of their films, which gave rise to the notion of the "Fake Shemp" (a different actor filling in for an absent one, generally filmed from the back), a practice taken to extremes by Sam Raimi, who popularised the practice of "Shemping" during the filming of his early, low budget, horror films, as he couldn't afford to keep the principal cast around for reshoots.
This is a lot of effort over a throwaway comment.

Susan is introduced in the first Doctor Who story, An Unearthly Child (1963), with the first episode focusing on her as an unusual teenager with an advanced knowledge of history and science. This catches the attention of her teachers at Coal Hill School, Ian Chesterton (William Russell) and Barbara Wright (Jacqueline Hill), who follow her home to a junkyard owned by an unseen proprietor named I. M. Foreman. It is implied within the story that Susan took the surname "Foreman" from this junkyard sign as an alias for use at the school, for when her chemistry teacher made the assumption that her grandfather was "Doctor Foreman" the Doctor replied, "Doctor who? What's he talking about?", indicating that he was unfamiliar with the surname. It is revealed that she and her grandfather, the Doctor (William Hartnell),[1] are exiles from their own people in "another time, another world" and have been travelling through space and time

Don't see why not, most of them seem to go for women who look like men.
In fact I expect most of them would go out with men if they could just get over their irrational penis phobia.

Folk festival, today. Not sure I can be bothered - missus is determined to stay to the end, which will mean keeping the kids up past 10, so there's a good chance that I'll end up abandoning her there as I carry at least one sleeping child back to the car.

After seeing them at Victorious, so is my youngest, but he's not one to stay awake past his bedtime, so it's a shame they won't take the stage before 9. Me and he are the most likely to want to leave early, I reckon.
