Everyone makes shit up
Years ago, working at BT Telemarketing, in sales support. We used to have to deal with customers who couldnt get an ISDN line that they had been mis-sold previously by the semi-trained chimps in sales. But since we knew nothing about phone routing, made-up elements of phone terminology like "sump" or "flux capacitor" were liberally sprinkled into the conversation. Loved the day when I told someone about their "flux capacitor" being the wrong sort, then they asked me what "Back to the Future" had to do with ISDN.
Nothing, sorry mate.

On the maid of the mist ferry floating into the maw of the Niagra Falls. You don't know how big it is until you are at the bottom of it. Its like being in the spin cycle of a very large washing machine. there is no up, down left or right only a massive white-noise of water. Humans are very small indeed

-Watching St elmos fire for first time
-Listening to The Verve album in late nineties smoking a cig out of my bedroom window
-riding scooter along seafront early on a bright sunny summer morning on a spurious shopping mission, love it!
-Putting the CD into the Playstation and watching the opening credits of Gran Turismo 2 and feeling SOO excited.

2002 Corfu, Its rubbish, full of germans and boorish englanders. We drove across to a nature reserve, way far from the built up nastiness. There is a lake for birdwatcher types and miracously... a moleste mile long golden sandy beach with no-one on it! Ok, there were some people, but spread apart about one every 100 metres. A great big sandy beach, no buildings around, no road around, no scooters, no music, and the sea wasnt the boring flat med, but it has a swell on it, like the carribbean. I ran up and down this empty beach like I was 7. And no I wont say where it is.
