I re-read the first Foundation novel a few years back,some of the ideas and plots were still interesting to me, but the book itself reads like it was written by a 12-year-old who likes heraldry and brags about his MENSA membership.

All the authors I just mentioned express great big ideasbut tend to have pretty badly written characters. Especially women characters, who are either sex mad airheads or autistic savant spinsters.
