# Sure it's your right not to vote
But then you can't complain about the government you end up with, surely?

# Perhaps he's only ever voted for independent candidates
or for individual candidates from various parties based on their individual campaigns.

# I strongly suggest that you should vote,
as well as campaign for the kind of changes you'd like to see. Otherwise you are a massive part of the problem.

# i dont intend to break a 30yr choice.
governments rarely like what the public campaigns over, unless they're making money from it with their bumchums.

# 30 years of sunk cost fallacy. Change is good.
Governments must appeal to voters. The more people like you, the fewer they have to appeal to. People like you keep bad governments in power.

# Don't politicians get concerned when voting rates dip?
Also, the old problem of not supporting either party in a two party system.

# Different politicians have different concerns about voting rates.
Typically the right seeks to disenfranchise voters who are most likely to vote against the interests of the rich and powerful. Willing volunteers like drvimto are a gift to these people.

Winning 40% of the vote should not result in an 80 seat majority for one party.

# if i were to vote and complain
someone would have said the opposite, or you get what you voted for. So i vote no one 🙂
