threadjack: by any chance would anyone know of a web site that shows you how to play popular tunes on piano?
(, Fri 12 Mar 2004, 6:48, archived)
# You could download midi files
then use software with a scoring function to give you the notation.

# i see
where would i find a program such as this?
(, Fri 12 Mar 2004, 6:50, archived)
# I used to have
an old version of Cakewalk that did it - I got it free on the cover of a magazine. Not sure if it still has that function though.

I currently have Sibelius which does the job and Cubase Score probably will too, but I've never used it - these cost money though.

# erp...
never mind... me wanting to learn a few songs has turned into purchasing a bunch of software
(, Fri 12 Mar 2004, 6:55, archived)
# You would probably be better off
going to a music shop and having a look at their books.

You should be able to pick up books with lots of songs for not too much cash - it's not free, but you should be able to get a lot for your money.

but I stay up late a lot so I can talk to my American friend on MSN.

(, Fri 12 Mar 2004, 7:06, archived)
# I think all Americans get tarred with the same brush
just cos the 'upper' end of society in the USA are a bunch of cunts, it doesn't mean that normal folks are any less likeable than anyone else. Some will be arseholes, some will be lovely
(, Fri 12 Mar 2004, 7:09, archived)
# My theory
is that there is a fixed percentage of idiots and arseholes in the world. America has a huge population, therefore it has more idiots and Arseholes.

Conversely though, it has lots of nice people too - all the Americans I have ever known have been from the nice percentage.
(, Fri 12 Mar 2004, 7:11, archived)
# that's true
there are alot of arses in the UK too.
