Are they hell to look after?
I've had rats before and I've been thinking about looking into thinking about talking to someone about what they're like as pets.
I've not gotten very far with the idea to be honest

some are going to be bastards. I was wondering what the bastard to fluffeh ratio might be

# Hmm
I am extrapolating from a sample group of one. Not sure.
My one smelt horrible, and never stopped ferreting. Possibly they are nicer if neutered.
It was sweet when it was asleep, which wasn't often enough.

# No problems, really.
We've had no trouble with him. He was fixed when we got him, so the smell isn't anything offensive. The biggest problem is that a) he gets nippy when hungry, and b) he gets into EVERYTHING! We have a system of cabinet blocks so he doesn't climb up the low cabinet into the silverware drawer.

He did get outside once, but he came home.
