You can open .mov files straight into Imageready
It uses each frame as a new layer, and makes an animation.

aha.
so say if the .mov file was quite big, would i have to make it a smaller clip using something else? or can imageready do that?

yeah, in my experience
anything longer than 6-7 seconds will slow down your computer and be difficult to optimize for web.
