Same reason we drive on the left,the swedes all drive around with their lights on and we all have a different currency. It would make sense to make all the rules the same but it would take a while to catch on. Like the Euro. And Scat Porn.

swedes have lights on all the time for a reasonas at some points of the year it stays dark all day/week/month, so lights are kept on anyway.
