Worryingly some bird in said this to me on a train from New York to Chicago back in summer 1998, having grown up in 'Norf' Larnd'n' (North London) it's scary she couldn't spot the regional difference to her 'Nu Yoik' (New York) accent...
(She also denied having an accent of any kind herself... 'I DON'T HAVE AN ACCENT!'... err okay)

I might be odd
but I pronounce it like that. I do pronounce it Boe-ee too, but it just depends what I'm feeling.
