And yet the world still turns...

I think the 'earning ridiculous amounts while nurses struggle to afford their rent'
is a big factor. That and they snap a fingernail and it's all tears and scented hankies. Lots of people love it though, and that's cool.
I still prefer watching men plays men's games like rugby though.

What has the amount a footballer
earns got to do with the fact that no-one wants to pay for nurses?

Not much, but it's still not all that nice.
But then I suppose there's kids starving on the streets all over the world and nobody wants to pay them either. too busy watching the football.
Nah, I just don't like it. Never have, and probably never will unless I change my mind overnight like my mum did with cricket.

It's been bitten by the 'lots of fans wearing lots of team's jerseys' bug.
That's another thing. Tight rugby strips. THAT was when it all started to really go wrong. I know why and all, but it just looks so.....'Hi I'm Gavin and I work in Top Man, would you like a glass of rosé?'....

I often walk
around and see blokes in those ridiculous shirts and would have loved to come up against them (so to speak) on a rugby pitch as I suspect I'd snap them like a breadstick.
Mind you I retired from rugby 3 years ago so mercifully all my shirts are of the oversized with gashes in the back type.

Same
And all of mine had too long sleeves, which came in useful for ticking the back of people's knees in scrums.
I miss rugby. It's awful playing women's though, it's proper WAR.

pfft
I miss rugby too, although to be honest in 15 years of playing at 6 and 7 I never had any (really) serious injury so I guess I shouldn;t moan.
Perhaps we shoudl start up a rugby club with just the rucking and no running about, sort of like a reverse 7s and we can drink and smoke while playing?
