I am sorry for your lost £450
I have made bad financial decisions myself.
I was basing the chav comment on every person interviewed on tv that I have seen, which admittedly were probably chosen by news produces for their percieved low income status (and chavvyness).
But I stand by my comment that nobody gives a fuck about people who lost their personal pensions (such as my father) in a supposedly risk free mutual govenment/FSA approved financial institution. They dont make attention grabbing headlines.

so because
one set of people was fucked over and didn't
get attention then anybody else that gets fucked
over deserves no sympathy?

I dont remember any charities being formed
Or newspapers/businessmen/public making donations when Equitable Life decided to sentance it's customers to financial poverty.
But look, I really dont want to make any enemies on B3ta, life is too short & messageboards are easy places to get carried away.
If I could grab Sir Cuntychops (the CEO of Farepack) and get your cash back I would.
I apologise completely for any offence taken.

You are joking?
The Mirror pensioners got plenty of coverage, and rightly so, but no help from the government. Different story when the Clowes-Barlow investment bank went under. That was people who could afford to lose the money (and only paid in out of sheer greed to start with) and the government at that time (Tories funnily enough) couldn't do enough to rally 'round and compensate everyone. What happened to the Farepak savers is fucking scandalous. Don't get me wrong, they're fair game for a piss-take like everybody else but label them all chavs is ridiculous.
