That's entirely fair, and has reduced my enjoyment of the song. I think if I listen for a third time I'll go back to finding it annoying.

More of a "wouldn't it be nicer to hear their own compositions without a layer of irony over the top of the song" comment.

This is a normal post I have been playing Vintage Jazz (or whatever you call it) since 1978
as a DJ and semi-pro tuba player and I really like what PMJ is doing! I hope they can keep on being interesting and strangely authentic.
My most favorite is still this one
