Having spent last week in a factory in Marseille, I would suggest some countries could alleviate that poverty by not spending the 35 hours they are allowed to work discussing what to have for lunch.

Only 6.1% permanently below the poverty line in France. They are doing better than us in that respect.
Perhaps their economy does quite well of the back of their gastronomic culture?
Probably wasn't a consideration for most Brexit voters due to their primary food group being "Greggs"
