Unless he claimed he wasn't the driver. I once stopped for a car that had crashed into a tree seconds earlier just as the very drunk driver was getting out, and his defence was that he had got into the drivers seat between the car crashing and when I drove past. Chinny reckon.

The driver of the Bentley, Richard Plum, 46, fled on foot but was traced by the blood left on the airbag of his car.
