Always a pleasure to read your blog
I don't have enough interest in old comics to actually read old comics but I do enjoy reading what you write about old comics. My favourite bits are what we now call the racisms. Unfortunately, this article was not up to your usual high standards. You wrote "Actually looks very good a ninety-nine-year-old." but surely you meant to write "Actually looks very good for a ninety-nine-year-old.". The fact that this article was first published in 2014 and this mistake remains almost 4 years later (to the day) left a bitter taste in my mouth, I am afraid.
Anyway, good luck to you.

Someone made a nice post correcting all the mistakes in my post.
Now the post has gone. Thank you stranger, I didn't catch your name.

I decided that there were too many contentious edits, depending on which style guide people favour.
Plus, it probably, inevitably fell foul of Muphry's Law.

How can I possibly learn if someone doesn't point out my mistakes?
You bloody idiot. You've made a right fool of yourself. Learn from this.

Good heavens, you are correct.
I pride myself on my linguistic exactitude but I am fascinated when I read over older stuff what I have writ and see mistakes. Well caught, now corrected.

I don't specifically remember owning this issue
But I've definitely seen some of the pages you put in over the years I had the Beano. I think there was a reasonable amount of borrowing and re-use going on. I think I had 5 years of back to back issues at one point. I used to hate Calamity James as a youngster, but when I was a bit older, found the squelch back comments funny and I ended up going through all the comics to re-read them. Ended up being one of my favourites. Funny that.
