I can only assume they consigned it to an 11pm slot or something. It looks like the sort of thing I'd have watched had I known it was on, but I'd never heard of it either.

You're not wrong.
I never heard of this either. The internet tells me it was on BBC Two at 23:20 but only in some areas of the country (not in East, South East & Yorkshire). It was repeated on digital channel BBC Choice.
