so the basis of my argument (and the mention of Chris Morris too) stems from the anger that I get when people miss the point of some comedians.
it's like saying "oh Kris Rocks bit about niggers is so racist" and getting all up in arms over it, in a Daily Mail kinda way
So when you compared him to Jim Davidson (who I personally find really offensive as his 'humour' appeals to the inner fears and hatred of people lacking any understanding of race/ immigration/ other people/ humanity/ love etc.) I couldn't believe it. Borat does get jokes from the funny accents, sure, but the real humour I think, is the peoples reactions to a 'silly foreigner' and I believe it comes from a place of compassion. Borat is a likeable character, despite his 'failings' He's just showing how ignorant people can be.
Where-as Davidson just says "they're different, they're stupid, they take our jobs, they've no place in 'our' country, haha, look at the paki, he smells and eats different food, isn't he worth derision" and it comes from a place of hate.
so to conclude
Some cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go.
