Autearoa is the Maori name for New Zealand. Moa were like a big ostrich. They had no predators for thousands of years, until the English turned up. They were tasty, so people bashed them over the head. Another moa would be curious about why its friend had suddenly disappeared, so it would wander over. And so on and so forth.

I really hate humans sometimes. We suck.
