This is a normal post Lots of South American dance music goes doufdoufdouf.
I think dance music is doing just fine, it's gone doufdoufdouf since before I was born and it seems healthier and more popular than I am.

This is a normal post baile is huge in brazil, whenever you see huge dance gathering of young people for rave like parties,, it's almost alway baile (pronounced ba-ley) funk
but surprisingly, more traditional dances still have huge numbers. Forro is massive around the country, Axé in the north (there's fair few forro clubs in the uk, set up by ex-pat brazilians). There's samba clubs often tied to the football clubs that blast out music all year long. I lived half a mile from one and you could hear it on the weekend still quite loud. Techno and its variants is limited to just a few clubs in the big cities, it's not mainstream or popular with ordinary brazilians. In the south you have this brazilian version of american AOR country and western music that's just the fucking worst. Slick production like garth brooks and tv channels devoted to it.

This is a normal post I lived there and speak portugues, had friends that organised sampa club nights, tour managed bands (until covid fucked her job), sold gear for fender and roland around south america,
and my second flat in london was this mental squat in hackney with 10 rooms and 8 brazilian DJs well before I went there. so it's an opinion based on knowledge
if you did the same, and waited until it was subject you actually knew something about you wouldn't say half the stupid shit that you do. newspaper journalists write their own headlines. all rotating bodies follow the right hand rule.

This is a normal post Sounds like a pretty great life.
And this is both fantastic music and excellent dance. I'm rather intrigued. Any further recommendations other than this channel?

if you're into more chill mpb music, marisa monte is a great place to start: www.youtube.com/watch?v=jYC6PkX2SA0 she does her own stuff, collaborates with tribalistas, as well as a lot of brazilian songwriters like Arnaldo Antunes and jorge ben jor
