I MADE A VIDEO ABOUT GIANT ROBOTS and also football
I made this!
I directed a thing for the FA! WITH A GIANT ROBOT! Defying Darwin wrote it and stars in it as a violent footballing skinhead!
It is technically an advert but the thing it's trying to sell is that people shouldn't act like dicks and scream at children so I hope people are okay with it.

Well someone else wrote most of it. And someone else animated the robot. And someone else filmed most of it. And obviously other people acted in it. But I did edit it! Well, some of it anyway. And I told someone else where the robot should go. And I managed to make my dog's head move like he was watching a giant robot walk past by doing big Godzilla stomps just behind the camera and filming his confusion. Which is kind of a skill I guess?

I think you're wrong, sorry: something is needed
The children's football scene in the UK is huge and run by thousands of marvellous volunteers for the benefit of kids, all under the remit of the FA. For some of these children it's the best time of the week: coaches who encourage them for trying their best to play nicely in a team. And then some idiotic parent stands on the touchline and publicly yells at their hapless child that they are rubbish, or worse. The worst offenders eventually get banned by the people running it but it's difficult to do and not part of what any coach, ref, bag-carrier, or bacon-butty cooking volunteer signed up for. This problem is best solved by getting the other people on the touchline not to tolerate it.
There's loads the FA is getting wrong (especially at the professional end of the game), but my attitude to the importance of what they do what changed completely when I saw the huge positive effect that the local kids' clubs -- and the men and women who keep them running -- had on the children.
Or to put it another way, that parents demeaning their children at these events is a common enough problem that even the FA need to admit it shows that something does need to change -- although you're right it's not really the football.
Heavens, that was grown-up. I also think a CDC is never not funny, just so you know.

And a great message too. I was at a football-themed kids birthday party not so long ago, and a seemingly-nice bloke I got talking to suddenly turned into a screaming, sweating, loud-mouthed arsehole when his 8 year old son was playing 5 a side. He seemed utterly-oblivious to the fact that everyone was staring at him in horror as he was yelling "Oh for Christ's sake Nathan! It's wide open! Nooooo! What are you doing!!! Useless!!" etc etc. Poor kid looked close to tears. Never wanted to punch anyone more in my life. Fucking bellend.
