This is a normal post There was a Storyville branded documentary film about this guy.
They didn't make or produce the film, but they ran their little Storyville ident at the start of it. He was a complicated guy, with his own secrets. Also not as clever as he made out. If you do have secrets to keep, best not let a documentary maker follow you around for months with their camera running.

This is a normal post Brilliant documentary! Thanks for the heads-up
But I disagree with your synopsis: The documentary maker had nothing to do with what transpired in the film.

This is a normal post IIRC there was a scene where Randi expressed anger at the fact he was being filmed, and claimed on previous occasions he wasn't aware he was being filmed.
My memory of the doc is a bit hazy though. Was he not upset that the doc served to out him as gay? IDK.

Anyway, did you ever see Weiner? There's a documentary maker who couldn't believe his luck. I saw it at the cinema, so his fall from grace was far from complete. Still a really compelling watch.

This is a normal post I don't think he was angry about that
as much as he was about his boyfriend being chucked out of the country for immigration offences.

This is a normal post Oh. I don't remember that bit at all. In fact, I think I was watching a different documentary called When Louis Theroux met Paul Daniels and the lovely Debbie McGee

This is a normal post It's a fascting docu...
...and James Randi is someone I hold in very high regard.

As I recall, his reticence was due to him feeling that it intruded too much on his personal life and shifted the focus from his life's work, but he eventually gave the film his blessing.

It's a great documentary, and I thought Randi came out (no pun intended) of it very well. He's taken down some real charlatans, and the relationship with his partner was portrayed very sensitively.

that tells us that that clown Geller was paid millions of dollars by even bigger clowns in the oil industry to tell them where NOT to drill for oil as his 'powers' told him there was no oil there?
