This is a normal post Can't be as bad as "Sherlock Holmes: the Voice of Terror"
Where the great detective (Rathbone, of course) is inexplicably fighting nazis.

This is a normal post Well at least that didn't add in some big shot Hollywood blonde
to add interest/credibility to the sequel so there's certainly still hope.
Better than the first? Doubtful but possible.

This is a normal post I was so disappointed
with the first one. Even gazing at the lovely RDJr didn't save it. I might give it another go...*gazes*

This is a normal post I was dragged to the cinema to watch this first one.

This is a normal post Oh I really enjoyed the first one.
I think just about all of the different versions of Sherlock Holmes have been good in their own way. I admit that I stifled a groan when I heard that the first one was directed by Mockney Twat Guy Ritchie but was really pleased with the result. Really liked the recent Cumberbatch stuff too. Hope they delay Dr Who forever in order to make more episodes.

This is a normal post I liked the first one
But it needed more Rachel McAdams... they've made an interesting choice in their Moriarty, as well as having Stephen Fry as Mycroft. I do wonder if there is some game afoot though, an evil Stephen Fry would have made a great Moriarty. There were rumours that Bradley Pitts was going to take the role, as he was a producer on the first, but I guess they never liked him, "too much acting"...

This is a normal post The problem with putting Fry in a film
was best illustrated with V for Vendetta, where you're sitting there engrossed in the story, when suddenly up pops Stephen Fry, and you think "Oh look, Stephen Fry is in it!", and suddenly you remember you're watching a film.

This is a normal post It was only when they smashed his face in that I realised it wasn't a documentary.

This is a normal post interesting that he isn't in the trailer
or even the credits at the end... I wonder if he has a tiny part (sniggers)

This is a normal post I think Conan Doyle is spinning in his grave
and so is Jeremy Brett. That said, I haven't seen the film so I'll be quiet.

This is a normal post but but but but
the deer stalker holmes was not the Conan Doyle written holmes...

in fact downeys slightly autistic smelly, and bare knuckle boxing holmes is MUCH closer to conan doyles character

This is a normal post I liked the first too
Although I know it pretty much divided opinion. This looks to me like it might be relying a bit too much on the explodybooms, but I'm prepared to admit its a trailer and they all have to have big 'splosions these days whether its relevant or not.

This is a normal post I liked chunks of the first one
but it was fairly inconsistent. I think it was one of those films that was good enough to have on in the background so you could zone out of the dodgy parts and then back in for the good.

Does make me pine for a Lucifer Box film though.

This is a normal post Well, it's no Brett (still unsurpassed, and hopefully will always remain so)
this being said, I was pleasantly surprised with the first film, as it was obvious from fairly early on it wasn't to be taken seriously. Hopefully more of the same enjoyable hokum this time around.
/And Fry will never surpass Charles Gray as Mycroft

Something to enjoy at a skin level but there's nothing beneath apart from a desire to rid you of your cash.
