As a parent, the amount of shitty content on Youtube aimed at children is horrifying. Yet they are some of the lowest-effort, highest-viewing vids around. The good stuff is vastly outweighed by the dirge.

Sadly it's not limited to the vids for children. Combined it's a mass insult to human intelligence.

I suppose it's the end result of having a platform open to anyone without anything other than reactive moderation. And that moderation doesn't really look at quality or suitability beyond some key areas. Even if somehow you managed to make really excellent content at a reasonable pace now you'd need to be massive already to get any kind of traction. But for all the traction you did get there would still be that shitty content out there smelling up the place.
I guess maybe I'm just uncertain to give it a try.
